Discussion on effect of covid19 in rural areas during and after lockdown

The wretched pandemic has wreaked havoc on every life on earth. It has multi facets draconian scourge burgeoning to be proved holocaust for the peaceful living. The informal wage earners and downtrodden aggrieved sections are the most vulnerable to affliction due to these pre-emptive strikes of the COVID 19 and its strict peculiar responsive measures - LOCKDOWN. After doing a considerable tact over the World Bank released data highlighting “COVID 19 to add as many as 150 million extreme poverty by 2021”. In response to this apprehension GBSS has decided to quest for a versatile strategy to perish this ravenous impact of the wretched pandemic.



On 17th of May 2020, Gramin Bharti organized a webinar on ‘Coronavirus pandemic and how to deal’ with the involvement of 42 prowess professionals from multi-access fields. Diverse professionals helped to put all the realized concerns under one shed with the multidimensional approach to eliminate the futilities and formulate an eclectic impeccable strategic planning, objectives and solutions for succoring the rural population. The webinar as new technological adoption for GBSS proved one of the most reliable solutions for proceeding panel discussion involving 12 speakers from different organizations to liaison with mutual sharing and exchange of knowledge. Swami Tanmayananda ji Mahraj from Ramakrishna Mission Ranchi explored the importance of greatest virtues and value system against this pandemic war. He told us the how ancient Indian culture can protect us and put immense light on self-dependent for securing the future, believing in our inner strength and will power. He said that in times of such difficulties we must try to be considerate towards others’ hardships and feelings. From the medical sphere, Dr. Vishal Kumar from PMCH Dhanbad highlighted the working of plasma therapy and progress in vaccine development. The discussion on WHO guidelines for precautions and its Annual Report 2019-20 | Page- 24 propagation strategies through various channels to reach every corner of the hinterlands have been well discussed. Use of masks and sanitizers were emphasized along with tips to maintain social distancing. Stoles, scarves and handkerchiefs could be used as an alternative to masks. People should wash their hands every 2 hours and in a proper way for at least 2 minutes. In absence of proper treatment and vaccines, we discussed healthy survivals within the pandemic. PhD Scholar Mr. Suresh Kumar Mahto had discussed how the month of March is important from an agricultural point of view. He informed us about what kind difficulties farmers must be facing in agriculture. Assistant Professor, Dr. Deep Narayan Mukherjee from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda educational and research Institute conversed about the effect of COVID 19 on rural economy and put forward dire implementation strategies targeting the concerned issues of displaced marginal workers and poor equipped marginal farmers. Dr. Mukherjee had directed the importance of ‘Vivek Krishi’ app in these hard times. Mr. Naveen Kumar from Tata Dhan Foundation discussed with us how we can group together rural women and create livelihood for them, making them independent. He shared with us that there are 6.1 lakh students in Jharkhand and girls only from financially strong families would be able to keep the education process going. The worst effects of the pandemic would be seen in houses of daily wages Labourers who are in other states. More than 6 lakh women work in cities as minimal Laboure’s and more than 2.5 lakh women work as agricultural laborer Mr. Dilip Kumar Mahto shared with us what provisions are being made for Laboure’s to move back to their homes with such exposed economic depressions. We discussed the provisions made by the Jharkhand Government. Shree Anand Kumar Ji from Zee News Jharkhand Bihar turned the interest of the panel towards ground level works done to tackle the pandemic. And then discussed the changes in environment occurring during Covid – 19 Medical Student Priyanka Thakur shared with us how this has increased the pressure on women especially during their menstrual cycles. Dr. Subhas Sahu from Ranchi University, Dentist Dr. Sunil Kumar and Sumit Kumar from Jaimangala Wahini, Begusarai shared their interests and discussed how effectively strengthen our economy after the pandemic and take a step towards making India self-dependent.

● Unification and coordination of relating efforts of different Social Welfare Institutions 

● Framing of objectives and strategies for strengthening food availability through sustainable agriculture production strategies.
